Chick lit blitz

I had to sate the desire to read In Her Shoes, which I've been harboring since I saw the movie. I'm in the middle of that one, and it's interesting to see what stayed exactly the same and what was changed (and how). Anyway, in addition to that, I've taken in a couple other girlie books: Angels, by Marian Keyes. I'd read good things about her books on half.com years ago when I was trying to find some light reading to send to a friend, but had never gotten around to reading any of her works. Came across this one at MLK, and voila, it was mine for three weeks. As beach reading goes, it's pretty good. I'm not scrambling out to find another, but if I didn't already have a list a mile long of things to read, I'd keep her in mind. And finally, Drop Dead Blonde, a compendium of four short-story mysteries. I requested it because one of the storis is by Nancy Martin, of the Blackbird Sisters series, and it was generally fun. Martin is still my favorite of the four, but I'd also give props to Victoria Laurie, whose psychic protaganist is pretty entertaining.
